Last week my church had a men's RETREAT. And the theme
of the retreat was MEN MAKING A IMPACT, in which I thought was very good. However, just before braking for lunch, the speaker at the podium ask every man to stand up
and introduce them self. And one by one each man stood and
said, my name is ___ and I am a Doctor , Lawyer , Teacher ,
Accountant , Biologist and on and on and
on, a powerful display of positive brother. And then the last person stood up and introduce his self, and it was a young man and he said, my mane is__ and I just got home from (JAIL) last month, and I do not want to go back to (JAIL). So I decided to come to this RETREAT . No he did not say (CHURCH) I need help, infect what I hard was, I want help. I know many that need help, But when you get a young man that want's help, its time to step up to the plat. That young man today is a student here at (N.O.W)
Heating and Air-Conditioning.
(Up Date) I am pleased to inform all of you that the young man who attend the church retreat
have graduated from NOW heating and air-conditioning program. Received his EPA/CFC and
is now working as a building engineer.
To “walk your talk” as a successful businessman is a challenge very few meet. Mr. Anthony Wood walks his talk and he’s a successful businessman. He brings his wisdom, experience to all of us in a very readable and understanding form. He specifies his knowledge on Heating and Air-Conditioning basics and working fundamentals. I would highly recommend his class to anyone who would like to have personal hands on coverage of every key issue a technician would face in this field. Again, thanks a million to Mr. Wood and I hope you will be around for decades to come.

I feel that the skills you are providing to the youth in the community are very necessary. This will help a lot of us to become self sufficient and provide a better life for our families. I am very greatful to have a program like this one. In addition, I would like to become a part of this program.

Mr. Wood, I appreciate what you are doing for our young afican american males and females. GOD answers all prayers and he answered mine, when I heard about your program. When we spoke on the phone, I just knew you was going to say your program was for DC residents only, maryland doesn't have any progams to help at risk youth or ex-felcons. You are a true blessing GOD put us here for a reason, I thank GOD he put you hear to help not just my son but, other yound men and women. All our young people need a second in society that's what you are doing. You are going to be blessed in so many ways again thank you, for giving my son a second chance. Hi, I am Anthony wood, founder of Neighborhood Organized Workforce (NOW).
Am just a ordinary guy, who one day decided to form a 501(C) (3) Tax Exempt non-profit organization in my community, that would help address some of the needs of the
community, such as job training,
So I developed a curriculum to teach heating and air-conditioning to residents of my
community, because my thinking at that time was that if I can teach them a skill they would be able to become gainfully employed, which may improve their quality of life.
Later I added to the program, GED preparation class, Job placement assistance, resume writing and social services. Ho by the way, no I do not have a PHD in Education or a MS degree in business management or a BA degree in community organizing. However, I do
have good (common sense). That’s not to say that I do not have people on my board of director with degrees. and I do take advice from them however, the point I am trying to make is that, ordinary people are doing extraordinary things, but none of this would have been possible without the donation from people all over this country who log in to now’s
